SyeComp is an Africa-based Remote Sensing and digital technology for agriculture company headquartered in Accra, Ghana with presence in Kenya serving smallholder African farmers and agribusinesses with bundled localised digital solutions: market information, digital finance and climate-smart technologies. SyeComp delivers bundled farmer services insights to enrich on-and-off farm profitability of African farmers and provides value-added bespoke digital services for agribusinesses.

Job Summary
The Finance Officer will be expected to work flexibly and collegially in offering support to the Head of Finance, the Management Team, and other internal stakeholders in the financial management system of SyeComp. The Finance Officer will have the responsibility of providing timely and efficient accounting and financial support services to SyeComp through ensuring accuracy and completeness in revenue and payment processes, data management, and reporting. The Finance Officer is expected to maintain high financial management and control standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
Under supervision of Head of Finance, the Finance Officer is expected to:
Provide financial oversight to the company at all stages, including timely preparation of budgets and financial reports
Maintain primary relationship and correspondence with partners and clients on all financial requests and queries
Assist the Head of Finance to prepare accurate and reasonable institutional budgets and budget narratives, consistent with the institutional revenue projections and policies
Provide periodic finance monitoring reports to SyeComp Management Team (SMT) to guide decision-making and strategies
Track, report and consolidate monthly program expenses, burn rates and payments from clients and partners
Prepare consolidated project financial reports based on contract obligation schedules
Maintain and monitor ongoing client and partner services
Ensure audits, including specific project audits, are conducted on time and audit findings resolved adequately
Perform other duties and tasks at the request of the SMT
Academic Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance specialisations or similar qualification.
Professional Qualifications
Possessing a professional qualification is an asset but not a must.
Relevant Experience
Minimum of 6 months experience in accounting and financial management. Having completed your National Service fulfills this criteria.
Computer proficiency and familiarity with a range of software applications, including MS Excel, MS Word
Proven proficiency in at least one professional accounting software
Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to prepare financial reports to a high level of proficiency
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a knowledgeable team
