Rolling out Climate-Smart Agriculture for African Farmers
Agrifood systems in Africa is characterised by lack of market linkages, low productivity, and high risks due to erratic rainfall and other negative impacts of climate change.
Seventy percent of the world's poor (over 50 million families in Sub Saharan Africa alone) are farmers, and they are disproportionately impacted by climate change. Climate smart smallholder agriculture presents the single greatest opportunity to simultaneously tackle two of our greatest challenges as a human race: climate change and extreme poverty.
SyeComp has developed a cost effective, highly scalable model: providing last mile delivery of crop/livestock protection products, finance ( mfarmPay), agronomic extension support, and market access linkages. This enables rural farmers in our operational countries sustainably and profitably increase their food production and climate resilience.
Over the past 10 years, SyeComp has consistently deployed socially desirable, technically feasible, financially viable, and environmentally friendly bundled service offerings for African smallholder farmers and agribusinesses.
